Types of Leather Seats We See and Clean
A lot of newer vehicles now have leather interiors. We deal with various types of leather, such as slicker leather, semi-synthetic leather, also known as pleather, or you see what we’re working with today, which is perforated leather.
Things to Remember When Steam Cleaning Leather Seats
You can see somebody spilled something in the car we’re working in today. It could be food or coffee; it could be anything. So I will show you how a steam cleaner will remove the stain. A couple of things to take into account. First, you don’t want to use too much-concentrated heat. You also want to avoid synthetic dyes or anything like that when trying to clean leather seats in a car, such as perforated leather.
How to Steam Cleaning Perforated Leather Seats in a Vehicle
When using a pressurized steam cleaner, you don’t want to be on top of the leather seats you’re cleaning. Instead, you want to be a couple of inches away. Then you’ll spray detergent down into the leather and add some steam. This process should remove the stain easily. Another thing I want to mention is I’m always trying to move in a sweeping motion, so I don’t stay in one place too long.
Don't Use Too Much Moisture.
So that’s how we steam clean perforated leather. Always ensure you’re not putting heat directly onto the leather for too long, moving, and not using too much water. You want something that dries quickly, such as steam, because if you put too much moisture down into leather, you can damage it.
