How to Apply Interior Dressing Inside a Vehicle

Interior Dressing Inside a Vehicle

It’s Brian with Limelight Detailing in Star, Idaho. We’re working on a GMC 1500, and I want to show you a quick demonstration and explain how we apply interior dressing and why it should be done.

Essential Details About Interior Dressing

The dressing looks great when applied to interior car panels. It’s the final step after cleaning, wiping, and steam-cleaning everything.

People might often spray some Armor All or a cheap product on their vehicles, but they don’t last long. Armor All is terrible because it smears if you haven’t cleaned the surface well. So, the first step is cleaning it thoroughly and getting it nice and prepped for the dressing application.

Chemical Guys VRP

I love using Chemical Guys VRP, which stands for vinyl, rubber, and plastic. It’s mainly an interior product, but you can also use it on some exterior parts. We take a couple of pumps, apply them to the applicator pad, spread them evenly over the surface, and buff them in.

To achieve a good look, dressing after thoroughly prepping the surface and ensuring it’s clean and not dusty is essential. The result is a nice, even coating. What I love about this product is that it’s not greasy or sticky and dries to the touch.

Unlike Armor All or other protectants that cause streaking and residue, this product leaves no residue on hands or clothing. It provides months of protection against sun damage, preventing cracking and fading.
