Video: Plastic Vinyl Restoration on Vehicle Exteriors

Hey guys, Brian here with Limelight Detailing in Meridian, Idaho, and today I’m just going to show you a little demonstration on what we do to treat plastics on the outside of your vehicle. So this is one of the biggest eyesores you can see on a car. It really doesn’t matter what kind of vehicle it is. This plastic can really get worn down just by sitting in the sun, especially black plastic, and so what we’re using today is just a silicone based product that we just apply onto the top to kind of bring it back to life, give it that nice shiny, glossy look that everybody likes to make it look new again.
So I just take a couple of sprays here, put it on my applicator pad, and then I like to just go back and forth and buff it into the plastic, and as you can tell, it’s already making just a huge difference. But what I like about the products that we use is they don’t just look good for a while, but they really do last for several months. It’s going to keep this protection going for a long time. So pretty easy to apply and you got a nice glossy look when you’re all done. So that’s how we apply some of our protective products to plastic.
